The developers at Splash Damage and Bethesda have confirmed that the first DLC for Brink will be free, as promised. Well, free for two weeks. Titled “Agents of Change”, the add-on is set to release in early July. [Bethesda Blog]

Phew, they later added to the blog.
Update 6/24: To be clear, as long as you download Agents of Change during the first two weeks it’s available, you’ll always be able to play for free. It’s only after the first two weeks that folks will have to purchase the content on Xbox LIVE, PSN, or Steam. Hope that clears up any confusion.

That’s a bit of a gyp. Although to be honest I am pretty sure I won’t go back to Brink unless the new DLC adds some new maps. And by some… I mean alot, 16 maps for a full priced game? Pretty poor considering they are carbon copies of the single player.

16 maps and you’re complaining?
16 maps based on the SP campaign (LIKE ALL GAMES EVER MADE!) and you’re complaining?
I think the world would be better off without you mate, you are definitely a detriment to the human gene pool.

…relax?
Cyaride has definitely got a point. I bought it at launch on PC for $50 USD ($48 or so), and even at that price the quantity of content was pretty startling. I’d hate to be one of the poor people who paid $109.95 for it in-store.

They told us what would be in it a while ago:
“The Agents of Change DLC will add two all-new environments, five new player abilities, two new outfits and two extra weapon attachments to Brink, and what’s more, you’ll be able to pick up the add-on for free for two weeks after its launch date.”
