Michael J. Fox Voicing Two Characters In Back To The Future Finale

Michael J. Fox will lend his voice to the fifth and final chapter of Telltale Games’ Back to the Future adventure, but we didn’t know he’d be supplying the voices of two characters. Telltale’s creative director, Dave Grossman, confirmed the dual appearance during a preview of Telltale’s coming work at E3 2011.

Grossman wouldn’t say precisely what characters Fox will voice, other than “You’ll know ’em when you see ’em.” To me, that means he’ll probably be reprising Marty McFly, maybe as his much older, future self.

In “Outatime”, the fifth chapter due on PC, Mac and iPad June 23, McFly and Doc Brown have had a falling out and are working at cross purposes, Grossman said. A behind-the-scenes trailer showed the two meeting an older character, voiced by Fox, driving a truck.

“It’s really kind of a coup for us,” Grossman said at E3. He added that Bob Gale, who co-wrote the original films and is working on this game, and Christopher Lloyd, who portrays Dr. Emmett Brown in both, may have lobbied Fox to join the project.

Telltale had to write Fox’s characters and lines for his review before he would agree to appear, Grossman said. “He wanted to make sure it was a good part and a worthwhile thing.”
