Mirror’s Edge Isn’t Dead Yet, Folks

You can never take vague executive statements to the bank, especially during E3, but what EA Games’ Frank Gibeau said earlier today about Mirror’s Edge is at least cause for cautious optimism.

Speaking with GameTrailers, Gibeau said “We haven’t killed Mirror’s Edge”.

“We’re actively looking at how to bring it back in the right way. We love that franchise. The DICE guys really created something I think special the first time around. You’ve got to have a big idea to be able to do the next one and that’s what we’re working on.”

Pushed on whether that meant we’d see a future title in the series on the company’s Frostbite 2 engine, Gibeau said “you’ll see that combination, I’m sure.”

Like I said, nothing concrete, but enough to keep your hopes up!
