Pandora’s Tower Opens Strong In Japan With Good News For 3DS

It was a better week for games for Nintendo hardware in Japan, as two new releases, One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP for Nintendo 3DS and Pandora’s Tower for Wii, charted high in the land where those platforms are now doing so-so sales.

The new One Piece game opened strongly, moving more than 80,000 3DS carts in one week to snag first place. It was followed by one of Tecmo Koei’s Dynasty Warriors-style games, the Trojan War themed Troy Musou for the PlayStation 3. Rounding out third was Wii action RPG Pandora’s Tower (pictured) with a pretty good 21,000 copies.

There were plenty of new debuts this week in Japan, but you’ll have to consult the Media Create sales list below to see how they all fared. (Last week’s champ, Akiba’s Trip, held strong in its second week, by the way.)
