What Is The Deal With PixelJunk SideScroller?

You may have deduced this from various other posts from yours truly, but I’m a huge PixelJunk/Q Games fan. So when I heard that an upcoming release from the team had gone under the rader, not even featuring in Sony’s E3 conference, I had to see what I could dig up.

PixelJunk SideScroller, like most of its other games, does exactly what it says on the tin. It appears to be a sidescroller of sorts – possibly in the vein of games like R-Type. The aesthetic appears to be simple, bold and clean – not unlike other games from the PixelJunk range. Not that that’s a bad thing.

In fact, the game looks disarmingly similar to PixelJunk shooter – down to the fact that water appears to be an integral part of the level design. We hope and expect to see a point of difference at some point in the future.

PixelJunk SideScroller doesn’t have a firm release date yet, but co-op gameplay is confirmed.
