Former Mega Man Producer Is Sorry About That Cancellation

This week, Capcom shitcanned Mega Man Legends 3. The game was supposed to be produced by Mega Man producer Keiji Inafune, but he's not at Capcom anymore. Hrm, that might have something to do with it?

On his blog, Inafune wrote, "Today's cancellation decision is out of my out of my control, but there's something I'd like to tell the staff: 'I'm sorry.'"

Inafune also apologized to fans for not seeing the game through to completion. He did thank the staff for all their hard work on the project.

A long time Capcom employee, Inafune worked on some of the company's biggest titles like Mega Man and also developed new ones like Dead Rising and Lost Planet. Before he left Capcom, Inafune said he hated his job.

Since then, Inafune created two new game companies and is hard at work on new titles.

It's kinda hard to not admire someone who bitched out the quality of Japanese products and quits from his high-end position. Especially since doing so rarely happens in Japan as everyone is "beaten in by the system" and everybody usually remains quiet about everything.

I'm still annoyed they cancelled Mega Man Universe - that was going to have a level editor - it would have been way cool.

I won't lie... This really really sucks! Legends was one of my favorite games in the Mega Man lore, and I was really excited to hear about Legends 3... :'( shattered. That, and the fact the Ape Escape 1 got canned for PSN here in Au... killed me!

Bye bye Lost Planet 3... Not that you had a chance to be any good after Lost Planet 2's ridiculously underrated self. :(
