LunchTimeWaster: Making Zombies Interesting

At my last fake count, there are roughly 1.45 trillion zombie flash games on the internet. Thankfully, Dude and Zombies manages to take the tropes of its genre and spin them into something fun and interesting.

So you’re killing zombies, but you’re also trying to rebuild your car so you can get away from said zombies. You can jump on top of your car to avoid the zombies, but they’ll destroy your car if you do. Sometimes it’s worth getting in the mix, risking your life to save your car.

It’s an awesome balancing act, and that’s essentially what’s fun about Dude and Zombies – it’s a game that understands how to build and manage tension. Waiting for your weapon to reload, trying to fix your car in the small gaps of time between waves, choosing between your own well being and your vehicle – it’s extremely well balanced, and this is the crux of the game.

Very well made, and very enjoyable to play.
