Nintendo 3DS Back On Top In Japan, Thanks To Tales Of The Abyss

Remakes! Japanese gamers love ’em, with further evidence to prove that theory in the form of Namco Bandai’s Tales of the Abyss. That Nintendo 3DS remake of the PlayStation 2 title is currently Japan’s best-selling game.

The 3DS role-playing game managed to scare up nearly 75,000 sales in its first week on the market, beating Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition for the PlayStation 3 and To Heart 2: Dungeon Travelers for PSP to take first place. Another remake, Goldeneye 007 for Wii, placed fourth.

Other new notable titles on the Japanese bestsellers list, courtesy of Media Create, include Test Drive Unlimited 2 and Sega’s Power Smash 4, aka Virtua Tennis 4.
