Rest In Peace, Digital Comics For PSP

Enjoy today’s update to the Digital Comics store for the PSP. It will be the last, Sony says, putting an end to the 18-month-old service that offered downloadable comics from Marvel, DC Comics, Devil’s Due, IDW Publishing and more.

The PSP comics store will tap out with more than 4000 titles, comics that Sony says it will continue to make available for PlayStation Portable owners who love them some Spider-Man and Superman. Offering a glimmer of hope for future downloadable comics, Sony says “The Digital Comics Team will continue to work on bringing the comic service to other Sony devices.”

Hopefully, that means the PlayStation Vita, which would do better justice to digital comics with its larger OLED screen and touchscreen controls…
