The Assassin's Creed 3DS Game Is Dead (But Some Parts Live On!)

When the Nintendo 3DS was first unveiled, one of Ubisoft's first games for the handheld was supposed to be Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy. It won't be any more, because that game's been shitcanned.

Speaking with Joystiq, Ubisoft writer Darby McDevitt has said that Long Legacy is no more. Rather than being wasted, though, he says that it "kind of morphed" into the "idea" of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, the upcoming high-def release in the series due later this year.

While that could mean a few new gameplay tweaks have made it over, he's seems to be mostly talking about the game's setting and place within the universe, as the 3DS game was going to be about Ezio heading to the Holy Land. Which is where he's instead going in Revelations.

Yay. More Assasins Creed. Just what the world wants. Yet another game I simply dont need to buy.

Then you'd be missing out on a great game.

Considering how successful and well-received Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood were, yes, it's exactly what the world wants.

I was kinda looking forward to the AC 3rd game. My guess is the exact same thing will happen to the wii u one aswell.

      3ds* stupid iPod auto correct!

I think they should've skipped Brotherhood and added it to this instead

That's some quality journalism there, Luke. How exactly did you get this job?

He's with KotakuUS. It seems their only requirements are a 3rd grade grasp of the English language. Any skills beyond that are just a bonus.
