While You Were Sleeping

Sleeping can be fun – necessary even. But what if stuff happens when you’re sleeping – game stuff? What are you supposed to to do then? Thankfully we have a solution – While You Were Sleeping, a quick round up of all the news that happened… while you were sleeping.

Big news coming in overnight is this: EA in its neverending quest for mega internet supremacy has now bought Popcap. Smart move. Especially since EA has done a great job of picking up companies and leaving them alone to do what they do best.

The Popcap guys, it seems, are pretty happy to have been ‘acquired‘.

This is reassuring for me. Stephen Totilo seems to be just as big a Zelda fan as me, and his extensive hands on preview helps answer a lot of questions and worries I personally had with the game.

I couldn’t be more bored with the ‘are games art’ debate, but this is good news I guess. This – Tim Schafer pitching his new game to the Cookie Monster – is amazing.
