Celtic Rockers Dropkick Murphys Performing At Call Of Duty Con

Kanye West isn’t the only musician performing at the first-ever Call of Duty convention, Irish punk-rockers Dropkick Murphys will be closing the first night of the show, Activision said today.

The band is performing opening night at 8pm on September 2 at the Call of Duty XP event. Then on Sunday night Kayne West will wrap up the two-day, Call of Duty celebration and fundraiser.

“With an unbeatable lineup of real-world and in-game experiences, Call of Duty XP was already poised to be an historic event for fans of the franchise,” said Eric Hirshberg, Chief Executive Officer of Activision Publishing. “The addition of Dropkick Murphys just makes XP that much more memorable. Few bands fit the bill better-we’re thrilled to have them performing on opening day.”

Call of Duty XP costs $US150 a person. A paid ticket gets you a copy of Modern Warfare 3 (a voucher, most likely, since the game isn’t out until November), a world’s-first hands-on with MW3’s competitive multiplayer, live-action recreations of elements of the series and more. All proceeds go to the CoD veterans’ charity.
