More Painfully Pretty Screens From Studio Ghibli's PS3 Game

Now that the PlayStation 3 instalment of Level-5's Ni No Kuni has a release date, Japanese gamers know exactly how long they have to drool over the gorgeous visuals before diving into Studio Ghibli's video game adventure.

With the Nintendo DS version a fading memory, Level-5 is hard at work making sure the console debut of the anime studio behind My neighbour Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service is as stunning to play as it is to look like.

As you can see in these latest screens, Ni no Kuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joō (Second Country: The Queen of White Sacred Ash) is a visual masterpiece. From a distance it's hard to tell that it's a game, at least until the dialog windows pop up.

Of course visuals aren't everything. To justify its inflated Japanese price tag the game will have to deliver much more than good looks.

Here's hoping it does well enough to warrant a North American localisation. Otherwise I might have to halfheartedly attempt to learn Japanese again.

Did the DS version ever get an English release that will play on Australian 3DS? Anyone know?

Naw, it's still never been released in english.

Although, I do seem to remember Level 5 of America hosting some sort of Facebook poll of what game they should localize next a month or 2 ago... I don't have a Facebook but everyone else needs to vote these crazy cats into English!

I dear hope there's the option for English text and Japanese voice...

+1 I hate the west fail attempts to dub our releases.

well to be fair, i've yet to hear one bad english dub of a Ghibli film (imho, havent seen all of them either)

But yes i too would like to have subs aswell.

Kiki's Delivery Service had an awful, awful English dub.
