Only At Gamescom Would (NSFW) Dark Souls Bodypainting Exist

Models wearing little more than a thong and thin layer of paint is not unheard of at German video game conventions, but the choice of hardcore action role-playing game Dark Souls as promotion-by-nearly naked woman candidate is sure… surprising.

Dark Souls publisher Namco Bandai has been spraypainting barely dressed women to promote its Gamescom line-up, with other models walking the show floor in Soulcalibur V and Ace Combat: Assault Horizon themed paint jobs, much to the delight of European teenagers. I suspect we won’t see much of this at next week’s PAX Prime or, well, virtually any other video game expo Kotaku attends for the next year.

For the latest on Dark Souls, read our Gamescom preview of the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 game.
