Assassin's Creed Revelations's PS3 Bonus Is Assassin's Creed

See how far the Assassin's Creed series has come with your "day one" copy of Assassin's Creed Revelations for the PlayStation 3 will have a nice little bonus in the form of Assassin's Creed — the 2007 original — free of charge, Ubisoft announced today.

Ubisoft says of the "special partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment" that "gamers will be able to go back to the beginning of the Assassin's Creed storyline" with their initial print run copies of Revelations. Not a bad deal, even if you're already the proud owner of the original, and a good way to bookend the Ezio and Altair saga.

Assassin's Creed Revelations comes to the PlayStation 3 (and Xbox 360 and PC) on November 15, 2011.

Im still going to opt for the 360 version i think :)

I have AC on Xbox and PC so a 3rd copy will just be put to waste on me lol

Seems more like punishment to me, the first Assassin's Creed was horrible.

Everything after that was awesome though.

Wrong wrong wrong. AC was the best IMO. The others lacked in both story and execution, though the gameplay may be better, as a whole I was thourely disappointed with ac2.

I hated Altair with a passion, he's the teen angst Anakin Skywalker of the Assassin's Creed Universe.

Pass me that crackpipe you're smoking.

        1. The combat in AC was unfinished and unbalanced.
        2. The plot ITSELF was unfinished, tedious and boring.
        3. There was bugger all to do in the cities.
        4. Altiair was a boring character in his own right.

Assassins Creed felt like nothing more than the beta for Assassins Creed 2. Even Ubisoft admitted the game felt unfinished when 2 came out in comparison to 2.

2 exceeded part 1 in every single way, to say part 1 was better in ANY way, is just spankingly ludicrous.

Politely disagree with both of you, loved AC despite its very glaring and obvious flaws (repetitive mission structure and shoddy narrative execution) because the core gameplay (running, jumping, exploring, stealthing and fighting) was solid.

Loved how AC2 addressed the flaws, making a game with a hugely improved story (not to mention the infinitely better ending, i.e. an actual ending not the cock-slap that was AC's "to be continued") and expanded really well on the core gameplay while making more organic and interesting characters and overarching mission structures.

      Also, this in the soundtrack.

A fantastically evocative song that works incredibly in its context. Pity Jesper Kyd hasn't written anything even remotely as awesome since. Seems he's video-game music's "The Knack" (the "My Sharona" guys).

The only real problem I had with the first game was how much empty space there was. Exploring the kingdom area I was looking forward to all the missions that'd take place in the little villages & ruins but there was never anything

    Very interesting and clever inclusion!

How about putting achievements in the first AC aye?

      But there already are... :p

"How about putting trophies in the first AC aye?"

      Fixed! :)

I jumped in with AC II, so this will actually be good for me :)

How is that in any way a good deal if you're a "proud owner of the original" (which I am)? The only possible inclusion of worth here would be if they updated it to include proper trophy support...

It would be nice if this meant tweaking the graphics and including trophies.

The first AC suffers major issues on PS3, which is such a shame (jerky frame rate, tearing, no vsync, etc).

“gamers will be able to go back to the beginning of the Assassin’s Creed storyline”

Thanks Sony and Ubisoft for finally allowing me to be able to do that.

Anyone that skipped the first but played any of the sequels will be sorely disappointed going back.

It had the same awesome mechanics, when is sneaking up behind someone and stabbing them in the back of the head not fun?

But the game... if you can even call it that, ugh. Do 3-6 repetitive activities, kill a guy, then repeat. Six times. Then fight through 1,000 guys, only to cop a stupid ending.

I've loved the series, but AC1 just doesn't hold up compared to the sequels that improved nearly every complaint I had with the first.

      Perfectly summed up!

The first game was built up through so much hype and it delivered in a lot of aspects, but it wasn't completely fleshed out. The game ultimately is the framework for the following games.

It would be amazing if they remade AC with all the features of the later games, but I think that's what this new game will do, flesh out the Altair story more.

For all that I love the series, and I really do, I think that each successive instalment has introduced as many new issues as it has managed to solve the flaws of its predecessor.

The first is still my absolute favourite, both because of the setting and its purity of intent (which may be interpreted by some as overt simplicity).

If I had not played the first shortly after release I'd be disappointed after playing ACII and Brotherhood. They are quite simply better games. At that time however, it was a game I bought along with Drake's Fortune which came "bundled" with my then $1000.00 dollar console. Had to have it. When I made it to one of the first high point and looked out over the area.., wow.

For free there's no reason to turn it down based solely on the idea that the then other three are all better games in the franchise.

The subject matter, narrative and storyline/ plotline(s) make it a very attractive opportunity for those who've yet to play it, and fulfill the Assassin's Creed legacy.

I probably wouldn't play through it again unless I got a PC version. For free.

Man they are really screwing 360 owners over. No beta, and now no free game.

Not that big of a deal, as I still have the first one somewhere :)
