Polyphony boss Kaz Yamauchi has announced that an update to GT5, called Spec 2.0, will be out in the third week of October, with DLC due a week later. Sadly, no word on what’s actually in them.

BraaainsJudging by my friends list (and myself), yes LOTS of people still play it, and play it a lot. I can’t remember the last time I was online with my PS3 and didn’t see at least 1 person on my friends list playing it – probably hasn’t happened since the game released.
It’s one of those games that I keep going back to whenever I’m in between other games. There’s just so much in there that you never really finish it. Especially since the continually updating seasonal events mean that you never run out of new events to try. The driving model is just sublime – even without the steady stream of new events, I could happily just grab a fast car and drive round and round the Nurburgring for hours.

mattI bought GT5 on day 1 and ive got all golds etc for most stuff, i still go back and play it, the online is pretty solid, if a little bit slow. the only thing i would change is the entire menu structure. i dont care if its old school GT5 its prehistoric and slow as shit

Yeah I agree that the menus (and, indeed, a lot of the progression structure) isn’t great. But once you actually get out on the track it’s just superb.

MarkDGood chance that anyone who owns GT5 because they love cars and loves driving plays it very regularly. Especially since there is no other option available on console and its fair step to get stuck into the hardcore PC driving sims. I suspect from your comment you don’t understand this passion 🙂
