New Counter-Strike Incorporates Old Mod

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is Valve's retooling of the classic team-based first-person shooter Counter-Strike. Today, Valve revealed that the game will include "Arsenal Mode", which is based on the popular Counter-Strike: Source mod "Gun Game".

Valve is working with the Gun Game creators to create Arsenal Mode. "We are excited that Valve reached out and is working with us to ensure Arsenal Mode is the best version of Gun Game", Michael Barr project lead of Gun Game said in an official release.

"Arsenal: Arms Race" and "Arsenal: Demolition" will add eight new maps to classic Counter-Strike team play.

In August, Kotaku spent an hour with Counter-Strike: GO. Check out the coverage if you missed it.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be out early next year.

Nice I love me some gungame with mates!

Epic news. New screens look fantastic as well.

    Value?

    Someone needs to proofread better

      Don't worry, It's just Bashcraft

Gungame is the only reason I play CSS! To many reverse servers now though.

There's a developer out there called "Value"? Well I guess the Steam Thanksgiving Sales are around the corner.

OK. Thanks for detailing what Gungame is. Anybody care to expand on this lightweight article?

Although i've never played CS, i think Gun Game, is the same as Gun game in Black Ops? (with Black Ops using the idea from CS?)

All players start off with the most basic pistol and each kill gives you the next weapon up from that (referred to as levels). It goes through the pistols to the smgs to the rifles etc up to knife and then grenade (might be grenade then knife I can't really remember). Each death knocks you down a level. First to get to highest level and get a kill wins.

Getting knifed takes you down a level, not regular deaths.
