my thoughts as well..
Personally i would say Dune 1 as it had alot more “graphics” in it compared to Dune II which was limited to the opening and odd here and there cut-scenes

Reminds me of Sid Meier’s Pirates! even though it’s probably something far newer and zoomed in.

That was my first thought, but having a quick google check of images only blue skies turned up.

Today’s whacky guess from me, Pang or Super Pang, even though I’m pretty sure that’s been done before.

I have played this level so many times haha, as soon as I saw the yellow, I knew it was Simba’s head on that first level

(Figurative) prizes go to Darren for guessing the game (and a runner-up prize for Toji :)). It was Lion King for DOS. If anyone can get a DOS emulator and download it, I strongly recommend that you do — it’s awesome!
Thank you for playing!

Actually, Darren was first to answer with the Lion King according to the time stamps…

YES! The first game I ever played, LION KING! On the Sega Genesis!”Did the Sega Genesis addition disqualify this? lol

I’d hit “post” before seeing Darren’s answer on pg 2, so I’ve corrected that now. I will give Darren the win because it was the right game. I only mention the DOS part because it was what I played it on as a child so it became stuck in my head.
So yes – kudos goes to Darren.

Woo, I promised I would win one the other day too! 😀 I only mentioned console because I think the SNES version was different, though I could be wrong 😛

Dang shouldn’t have mentioned console haha! I’ll be honest and admit I never knew there was a DOS version, is it much different?
If it is damn straight it rocks! I have no idea how I was able to do the bloody Can’t Wait to be King level with the ostrich and that Stampede level was crazy!
Worst of all was Hakuna Matata with the logs and the waterfall, and it gets even crazier from there, I have no idea how anyone was able to complete this game without save states.

It was SO HARD! I had this on SNES and it took me months to pass this game. Granted I was about 6 or 7 but..
