A Great Car Chase Is Now A Great Toy

You’ll be seeing a lot more toys over the next few days, because the New York Comic Con will be full of them. This one, however, won’t be.

It’s coming from Japan, and commemorates what I think is one of the best car chase sequences in cinema history. It’s so great, in fact, that it’s rumoured none other than Steven Spielberg calls it his favourite movie car chase.

This car-and-men set is from The Castle of Cagliostro, a 1979 animated feature based on the manga series Lupin III (and directed by none other than Studio Ghibli’s Hayao Miyazaki).

If you’ve seen the movie, you know all about this scene. If you haven’t, you need to. It’s badass.

This piece will be out in December, and will sell for around $US45.
