First Image Of Phoenix Wright, The Handsome Japanese Movie Star

Japan is making an Ace Attorney movie. Takashi Miike is directing, and actor Hiroki Narimiya is starring as Phoenix Wright. This is what he looks like as Phoenix Wright.

The movie was filmed near Kyoto and is slated for an early 2012 release in Japan. This isn't the first adaptation of Phoenix Wright. The all-female Takarazuka Revue did musical versions of the popular lawyer games.

OBJECTION! HIS HAIR ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH!

It's just not spiky enough. I've seen people at Manifest with better hair, just ask Evil Tom

Precisely. DAMN IT JAPAN, IF YOU'RE GONNA MAKE A PW MOVIE, GIVE HIM IS ACTUAL HAIR!!!

Mine is pretty long at the moment. With some grooming and hours of straightening and gel I could whip it together.........*strokes chin* If only I had a little more.

Its like they ran out of gel after the first spike.

I don't think I can take this seriously.
Unless they re-cast Ken Jeong as either Phoenix or the judge.
    That would definitely do it.

    fantastic!
i'm interested, but i'd much rather prefer an animated movie...

I agree, at least the only thing they would have to worry about is the voice actors. :D

I find it a little odd that they're getting a live-action movie before an anime. It seems like it could be taken a lot more seriously and be make a much more smooth transition over in an animated form. I mean... Just look at that hair.

'course, I doubt it will be a bad movie. I'd still prefer an anime, though, especially for the prospect of a delicious localized dub. Subs and direct translations really just don't cut it for the series given all the cultural references in there.

Actually, I perfer direct translations BECAUSE of the cultural references, so long as they have cross referencing (aka, where they explain the references). Then it becomes a learning experience :D

    Delicious live action Mia Fey?

    I like it.

Me too. They don't need to wholesale copy the game art do they? They seem to have chosen to adapt the style to something more "realistic".
