Can you remember this? Every day we take a small portion of a retro game and ask you to identify it. We’ve made it hard, because you guys are too good. If you guys are struggling, I’ll post a second part of the screenshot in the afternoon.

I never know any of these, but possibly a suggestion for someone else, maybe it is an arcade only racing game? I’m sure there must be some of those that wouldn’t be immediately obvious because they don’t get released on home consoles.

It’s a hard one.I’m feeling a codemasters game of some sort.
Please tell me it isn’t motor toon. 1 or 2. Otherwise that’s retro beyond retro.

Destruction Derby?
I’m trying to think of other racers from that point in time… and there really weren’t too many.
The sky actually made me think of 4d Sports Driving aka STUNTS.
Oh good call – I’ve been trying to think of Screamer for the last 10 mins…
There is another one that came out at a similar time with a ridiculous name…
Like Fast Drive, or Accelerate Driver. Or… something stupid, but 2 words jammed together, both of which reference driving quickly… Just can’t think of it though.
Speed Haste! Yes that was it. I don’t remember it well so it probably wasn’t all that good.
Oh, for something fun from a similar time though, interstate 76 was a classic.
I won my first PS1 by “cheating” in a Destruction Derby competition.
The goal was to get the best time possible in uhh, I think it was called Total Destruction mode.
I set a really good time, and it was leading the competition for weeks, and then on the second last day someone beat me. Rules of the competition were that you couldn’t set more than one time once it was recorded. So I went in with a friend and got a better time, and got my friend to report it with his name.
A couple of days later I was the proud owner of a PS1, a years worth of Psygnosis games, a subscription to Hyper magazine, and a crapload of Jelly Belly Jelly Beans.
And I still don’t really feel guilty about cheating.
Can’t think of something to do a low-quality mspaint job of besides a “generic driving/racing game” theme so going to pass today 🙁
