Can you remember this game from one single portion of a screenshot? Maybe I’ve been slacking, but it feels as though you guys are getting too good at this business. Consider this a test. If you get this too quickly I’m going to crank it up another notch! As always — if you guys can’t get this by around two or three I’ll chuck up a second pic.

It’s either a text based adventure or there’s a problem displaying images on the mobile site.

It’s a Sonic Game, since Generations should be out this week.
It’s from a Bonus Stage complete screen, just obtained the Red Chaos Emerald (top corner) and already obtained the Green.
I can’t for the life of me remember which Sonic had a black background for the bonus stage complete screen.
Could be Game Gear, since I never played that.
Or possibly Sonic 3D Flickies Island?

I finally found a resource for the bonus stage screens. It’s probably not a Sonic game. The Game Gear games didn’t have bonus stages, and all console Sonic’s had white background for the bonus stage clear screen.
FWIW, You collect Yellow before Red in both Sonic 2 and Sonic 3D Flickies Island. I suppose you could also do it in Sonic 3, but you’d have to intend to finish Bonus Stages in a particular order.

Is that Overkill? It reminds me of that.

This has to be the first time I have ever got it on the first pic. Pity someone had only just got it right!!!

Actually, upon further inspection, I’m changing my guess to Crysis: Warhead. So if it does turn out to be Bubble Bobble, then you get the points.

Only obvious once the second image was posted [I assume. having gotten here only after it was posted].
And yes, I too will have the theme in my head all day.
True story: I once used a MIDI file from the NES ROM of Bubble Bobble to create a polyphonic ringtone for my brother’s Nokia phone, and posted a crappy webpage somewhere with the details. Several years later, my friends sister had the exact tone on her phone.
