Sony Offering Chance To Get PS Vita Early With First Edition Bundle

So, maybe you thought the wait for the PlayStation Vita would finally end on the just-announced launch date of February 22, 2012. Well, it will nut for a lucky few it'll end a week earlier. Sony's just announced that their new handheld will be offered in a new First Edition bundle.

In the US, said bundle includes a PS Vita 3G + Wi-Fi model, a limited edition case, 4GB PS Vita Memory Card, and Little Deviants game for $US349.99. The Canadian bundle includes a Wi-Fi model, a limited edition case, 4GB PS Vita Memory Card, and Little Deviants game for $US299.99.

Basically, you have to commit to getting the 3G-enabled model of the Vita in America in order to play it earlier than anyone else. This plan could backfire if the rest of the launch games are locked to the 22/2/12 launch date, though... Pre-sale orders for the First Edition PlayStation Vita bundle start to day at select retailers.

Already preordered my 3G Vita! I got excited there for a minute, but alas only in America.

This news is very pleasing though, with a pack being made to include a Memory Stick, 4GB will last me for game saves for quite sometime.

Would give me a change to re-save for a larger memory stick down the track.

Have to be honest - there's a lot of value in those bundles.

If they're trying to shore up an awesome sales numbers week, that'd work. If/when it comes to Aus, I'd totally pick up a wifi Vita with memory stick and game for standard pricing.

I would have been purchasing one of these straight away if it was here in Australia. I have already pre-ordered also!

As much as I can't wait for the Vita, that interface is an affront to my eyes.

The Australian price is purely offensive. Not picking one up til it drastically drops. Sorry Sony you lost me when it spiked so much and the Aussie dollar was higher :\

Have you considered doing and import and running a wall adaptor?

Got mine pre ordered through game broadmeadows. 3G & WiFi Version... going to cancel it tonight for 2 reasons:

    1. I dont really need the 3G model as im not planning on subscribing to a data plan. Plus, every phone out there is practically capable of WiFi hotspotting if i need it.

    2. Id rather save $100 and Order it out of the states. Its region free anyway.

I think you should still get the 3G version, as you clearly stated that you though there was ony data plans but there is preapid aswhell. Plus some feature are still supported even if you don't buy any data (unlike phones).
