Bengus's Capcom Game Art Will Knock Your Teeth Out

Since I've started a thing lately with Capcom artists, I may as well finish it by spending a morning showing off the work of Bengus.

A bit of an enigma, Bengus's art has been a big part of Capcom's fighting games since 1987, with almost every title and series from the original Street Fighter through the next fifteen years owing a great deal of gratitude to his character design and art style.

Like many other Japanese game artists, tracking Bengus down is a little tougher than you think, and while examples of his work from the '80s and '90s are easy to find, his departure from Capcom in the middle of the last decade means his last work for the company was a promo poster for Marvel vs Capcom 3.

Also known as CRMK, he's perhaps best known for stamping his style all over the Street Fighter Alpha series, but also made big contributions to regular Street Fighter, Darkstalkers and the Marvel vs Capcom games.

Fine Art is a celebration of the work of video game artists.
