Cut Mass Effect 2 Mission Winds Up In Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 2 was meant to feature more Citadel missions than it ultimately wound up with. Rather than see good missions go to waste, developers BioWare will be bringing at least one of them to completion in the upcoming Mass Effect 3.

The game's lead writer Mac Walters told OXM, "There was a Mass Effect 2 plot that was a kind of callback to the first Mass Effect that was going to be on the Citadel, and we cut it. But now it's made a resurrection in Mass Effect 3, so I'm happy, but I can't say what it is. That's the nice thing about trilogies, sometimes you get a second chance."

I hope it involves grasshoppers with adorable little backpacks.

Mass Effect 3 will be out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in March.

Mass Effect 3 to feature canned Mass Effect 2 Citadel mission [OXM]

I just want them to make the Citadel more like it was in ME1. ME2 made it feel like a cramped little thing, but ME1 made it actually FEEL like it would be that size.

I felt the same way... 'The Citadel' from Mass Effect 2 seemed like it was designed and constructed inside of some shipping containers. VERY underwhelming.

So damn true. The Citadel was something I consider with a sense of awe in the first game. ME2 iteration was forgettable, to say the least.

Really like the Citadel in ME1, it was just another disappointment with ME2 though. Hopefully we can actually use it as a hub planet in ME3 again.

Something to do with the "Scan the Keepers" mission? We only got an email for it in Mass Effect 2.

I want a keeper in my team for ME3!

Meh. I did practically none of the missions in ME1. Too busy saving the universe.

A lot of ME2 didn't have the same sense of "urgency" about it so I actually did a lot of the missions. Which I do regret doing somewhat, as my character wouldn't ordinarily do them.

With Earth seemingly being directly threatened in ME3, my character may not exactly hang about to find some fish on the Citadel for some random turian.
