Japan's Popular Monster Game Momentarily Forgets The 3DS

Monster Hunter conquered Japan on the PSP. Monster Hunter 3G is coming to the 3DS. For a brief second, the game totally forgot that.

In one portion of the game's online instruction manual for the Nintendo demo, instead of referring to the 3DS's buttons, it refers to the triangle button, the circle button, and the X button.

You can see a close-up in the upper right corner.

While the X button features on both the 3DS and the PSP, the triangle and circle buttons do not. They're PSP only. Doh.

Online, Japanese commenters wonder if this means the game is a multiplatform (read, Vita) title. The page is not corrected, and the reference to Sony face buttons were erased.

The rest of the page doesn't suffer similar brain farts. Hey, Monster Hunter's on the 3DS, too. Eagerly anticipated Monster Hunter 4 is also a 3DS title. Let's not forget that!

Will pick this up once Nintendo releases a firmware that makes my Au 3DS region free.

And it won't be released in English ._.

Even portable 3rd is yet to have any news on a western release. Oh well, at least we'll still get english patches.

I suspect it will be multiplatform and come to Vita with multiplayer. They'd be fools not to, I still play Monster Hunter Portable 3rd on my PSP. Such an awesome game.

portable 3rd wouldnt be released due to the ad-hoc party intergration requiring the EU and American Sonys having to upgrade their versions of it (not that they ever even get enough people to fill a single world)

Also, the error could just be from copy-pasting from portable 3rd's instruction book and not changing the button names.

They could release a upgrade via game?

Oh designers, when will you learn to read your copy-pasta ways.
