Meet The Official Console Of The NFL

It’s the Xbox 360. Maybe you’ve heard of it? Today, Microsoft and the National Football League announced a multi-year deal that not only makes the Xbox 360 the official console sponsor of NFL, but is also partnering with NFL Play 60 to promote youth fitness.

NFL Play is a youth health and wellness program designed to impart good health and an active lifestyle as well as fight childhood obesity.

“We are excited to be aligning with one of the world’s premier sports organisations and believe the Xbox 360 brand represents many of the same values as the NFL, including fun, fitness and great entertainment,” Dennis Durkin, corporate vice president and chief operating and financial officer of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business, said in an official statement.

“We particularly look forward to the opportunity to work with an incredible program like NFL Play 60 and help inspire today’s youth.”

Microsoft’s Kinect will be incorporated into the program and will appear NFL Play 60 events. Microsoft is also donating consoles to participating NFL Play 60 Super Schools.

“We are pleased to welcome Xbox 360 and Kinect to the NFL family,” said Brian Rolapp, chief operating officer of NFL Media. “Fitness is core to our game, and we are looking forward to working with Kinect for Xbox 360 to evolve NFL Play 60 in new and innovative ways.”
