Metroid II Coming To Nintendo eShop

Before the 3DS launched, Nintendo promised that it’d be rolling out a catalogue of Game Boy classics for their new handheld. While that roll-out hasn’t been as fast as some fans has wanted, a genuine classic’s hitting the system this Thursday.

Metroid II: Return of Samus sends the iconic bounty hunter to the home planet of the powerful alien race to exterminate them all. Fans of the franchise knows that the game sets up the even more beloved Super Metroid; you’ll be able to download it from the eShop in 48 hours or so.

Nintendo’s also adding an all-new game to the eShop channel. Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword tasks players with facing down waves of samurai, using a dodge-then-attack mechanic to battle their way to a kidnapped princess. Already out in Japan, American 3DS owners will be able to find it on the eShop in January.
