Please Don’t Tell BioWare To Change Mass Effect’s Story Because Of Leaks. Please.

Last week, many of the key story points for the upcoming Mass Effect 3 were leaked. So out there, just waiting to spoil you, are arseholes who already know how the game does (or can end).

You’d think this would be a disaster for developers BioWare, but they’re actually totally cool about it. So cool, in fact, they say they’re open to the idea of “tweaking” some aspects of the story based on feedback from people who have seen the leaked content.

“We listen to our fans all of the time,” BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka told Eurogamer. “We listen to them on the forums, their feedback from stories. We’re reading it all. If we can get ideas out of it that will make the game better, sure. We’re not adverse to taking feedback. That’s part of our core values, is humility. Any time we get a good idea from fans… they’re our audience. They keep us in business.”

Now, he’s probably just being polite. This story has been worked out for a while now, and the skeleton of this game has been finished for months. So if anything was tweaked, it would be something minor. Even then, please, don’t go giving them any bright ideas.

It’ll stand out, and it’ll be weird. And a series with talking jellyfish and inter-species sex is weird enough.
