Fans Shift Final Fantasy VII To Unreal Engine


A team of budding game designers have grabbed a copy of the Unreal Engine and decided, as a learning experience, to recreate the opening section of Final Fantasy VII with HD graphics.

It’s also in a first-person perspective. Just in case you thought a remake of a game from the 1990s would actually retain its traditional point of view.

Sure, it’s all wooden and missing stuff, and looks barely playable (you can download it here), but there will be some Final Fantasy fans who would relish the chance to explore the world in first-person. This, then, is for you.
