Nintendo’s Latest Cheerfully Teaches You Insider Trading

In real life, insider trading is as much a crime as jumping on someone’s head and flattening them to death. But in the Super Mario-themed Wii virtual board game Fortune Street, insider trading is both a valid tactic and a recommended strategy.

The key to making it sound like so much fun is the music.

After I finished a match of Fortune Street last week, the Nintendo-published game chirped out the helpful tip you can see in the video above. It’s the most gleeful explanation of insider trading I’ve ever seen thanks to the peppy music, and it’s one of the most surprising things I’ve seen in a video game all year.

Maybe if they played this tune at Occupy Wall Street all those financial fat cats wouldn’t get such a bad rap.
