PS Vita: Nope, Only One Account At A Time

Confusing! First the PlayStation only supports one PlayStation Network account per handheld, then it doesn't. Now, it does again. What?

Sony told Wired that, contrary to reports that were contrary to reports, the PlayStation Vita will indeed only permit one PlayStation Network account per unit. If you want to change accounts you'll have to reset the Vita to its factory settings and delete everything off the thing.

So we're back where we started, and where we started sucked for those with multiple PSN accounts. Disappointing!

Sony Backtracks, Says Only One Account Per Vita [Wired]

American Vita Import it is then.

Doesn't matter where you buy your Vita, you can sign into any region PSN account, just not multiple accounts at the same time, that's the sucky part.

If everything is saved on the propriety memory cards, what do you lose by formatting/resetting? I'm a little confused by it.

Everything. You're better off signing in with the account you prefer, and then importing titles from other regions.

If the memory cards are encrypted using a key unique to the individual device, and that key gets changed with a factory reset, then your memory cards might be as good as wiped.

So what about people who want to change regions? I know I routinely switched my PSP back and forth between AU and JP accounts to get the inexplicably exclusive free DLC (?) that came out for a few games. Tough shit this time, huh?

Sony just keep makin' mistakes, over and over. Wonder when they'll learn.
