The 2011 VGAs: All The Videos, All The Games, All The Awards

The Spike Video Game Awards are an event that says more about the coming year than it does about the current one. Last night gave us more than a dozen trailers, half of which concerned games about which we knew nothing, or next to nothing, before Zachary Levi started handing out the hardware. As to that, there were plenty of strange scenes on the stage and in the crowd, from the puerile to the cringe-inducing to the bizarre.

Here's your roundup of all the trailers from last night's show, plus excerpts of the ceremonies themselves. If you care about who won what, check out this list of all the winners and nominees in the 26 categories recognised at the 2011 Spike Video Game Awards.

Really? A fucking teabag? They actually had to take the time to show off a teabag?

I'm not sure the teabagging was such a good idea, it really reaffirms that stupid sterotype of the childish gamer.

However, I'm pretty keen to see how that tony hawk game turns out!

We don't need an awards show to reaffirm that stereotype. We have online gaming for that!

Putting your balls and penis in a man's face isn't childish (what the HELL do you think children are really like??). It's gay. And exhibitionist. And I suspect many people in fact wouldn't want to see it. At least he kept his pants on >.>

Only one that was worth watching was the Tony Hawk and CNC Trailer.

Glad this article doesn't say "VGA Awards" like half the news stories about this do. Video Game Awards Awards...

I don't think I want to be associated with "Gaming" anymore.

Wow. I really hope the general consensus of Kotaku readers is that this whole thing was just awful. What a terrible re-inforcement of 'gamer' mentality stereotypes. Of course a bunch of people will probably reply to this saying 'err get the stick out of your ass its all a bit of fun', but those people are part of the problem.

Yeah. That was all pretty gay.

Nope, I find all forms of teabagging to be stupid. Which is funny because teabagging was created as an insult to itself.

This was my first and last VGA's i'll watch, the whole thing was a giant commercial for company's to show off their shiny new games and the awards were very, very obviously rigged, I'm no fanboy of any game but CoD getting best shooter over BF3 and GW3, are you fucking kidding me? Any gamer with half a brain should now know this is all a sham.

      This.

You only have to look at who hosts the VGA's to work out how bullshit it is. SPIKE TV: The station that attracts more dudebro's than an Ed Hardy Cologne clearance centre.

And you know ever dudebro has the latest Call of Duty sitting next to his console.

      *sitting in his console.

They're bro gamers/fratboys, it's the only thing they can use to prove they're worth something. I don't even count them as a gamer since it's the only game related thing they've bought this year.

my thoughts on the new metal gear game- wtf?
i don't even like the main series and im pissed off at the DMC direction they've taken, and i bet the story still wont make any sense, no way i'm playing this lol looks terribad
