From Ryu Hayabusa To Jeanne D’Arc, Everybody Fights In Warriors Orochi 3

The third instalment of Tecmo Koei’s Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors hack-and-slash crossover is coming to North America on March 20, it’s 120+ warrior roster padded with cameos from Ninja Gaiden, Warriors: Legends of Troy, Bladestorm, Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll and Dead or Alive.

Warriors Orochi 3‘s expansive roster demonstrates one of the benefits of Tecmo and Koei becoming Tecmo Koei. While the first two games in the series were limited to characters from Koei’s stable of historically-inspired titles, the addition of Tecmo gives us a chance to see characters like the purple-haired ninja Ayane and Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive make appearances as well.

Warriors from all throughout history converge at one point in time in order to save reality from a massive eight-headed hydra. They’ll forge bonds, recruit allies, hold banquets (eating is important), and amass an army capable of doing what Hercules could do all by himself. I never said they were particularly good warriors.

Once the smoke and dust and hydra heads clear, players will be able to create their own custom scenarios and share them online with friends. collecting Musou Battlefield Elements in story mode to enhance their creations.

The point is if you like Dynasty Warriors of Samurai Warriors, you’re buying this game. If you like Ryu Hayabusa or Ayane, you might buy this game. If you’re a big Jeanne d’Arc fan, then good for you.

In which camp do you fall? Find out March 20, when Warriors Orochi 3 drops for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
