Minecraft Has Enough Users To Power A Flux Capacitor

Great scott. 1.21 GIGAWATTS? Minecraft has just hit 20 million registered users — an incredible milestone. Notch took to Twitter to drop some incredible facts about what we could actually do with 20 million human beings.

Apparently 20 million users, if they weighed 70kgs each, amounts to “25% of the weight of the Great Pyramid of Giza.”

How about this one: “20 million people produce enough heat energy to power a Flux Capacitor, but there are significant logistic problems with doing so.”

Yes, I laughed out loud.

This one is my favourite though…

“At 4 liters per day, it would take a million years to drink 20 million liquidized humans. Just saying.”

Alright, that’s great Notch. Great to know that by registering for Minecraft I’m actually signing up to be part of what seemingly amounts to a massive ‘humans as energy source’ experiment. Is Minecraft actually a primitive version of the Matrix?

Thanks Eurogamer!
