This Is How Trials Evolution Is Handling Multiplayer

I was a huge fan of Trials HD, and its sequel Trials Evolution is one of my most anticipated games of 2012. I have been a teensy bit worried about how multiplayer would be integrated into what is usually a solitary, pass the controller, leaderboards heavy experience. Maybe I was wrong to doubt those goddamn RedLynx wizards…

But still, after watching this video from Inside Xbox, I’m still yet to be convinced. This multiplayer stuff seems like an interesting distraction, but I reckon my Trials time will still be spend trying to top leaderboards rather than competing in a live environment. That was always the point of difference Trials HD had for me, and it’ll most likely be the reason I’ll continue to go back to it.

Still, it looks pretty swish, and I’m loving the new outdoor aesthetic.

Thanks Joystiq!

  • I do hope they stay true to the past. Its a proven formula and works across so many platforms. I mean, 1000 heroes is pretty much a kid friendly version of trials with a lot less difficulty, dealing instead with 10ths of seconds over fairly simple maps.

Leader boards will ALWAYS be the most important thing in trials in my opinion.

  • Why isn’t this on PC??? They are crazy not having these games on PC or PS3, they are losing out. These type of games are crazy popular on PC, oh well too bad for the developer as that does look awesome.

  • Racing ghosts will add some depth to the leader boards and would be a good way to pick up tips if the ghosts movements are accurate to what your friend did when they got the time. I hope you can race your own ghosts. I can see myself paying this like I played time trials on Super Mario Kart on the SNES

  • Here is the breakdown of the video i made a day or so before this video was published by IX. It is the same video, but I have added a slo mo section at the end so you can see the details.

Follow @TrialsEvolution (unofficial account) if you are looking for more info, its always up to date with the latest from the dev team.

Also if you want to add me, FR to FatShady Live on XBL and i’ll happily have a game when this is released.

    • Wait, that makes me sound stupid. IX put this video up on the UK XBL dashboard on Wednesday but not in AU or US. I got the video and did the slo mo section also.
