MLB 2K12 Demo Arrives On Tuesday; No Word Yet On The Show

News and notes from around the world of sports video gaming:
Major League Baseball 2K12 will release its demo on Tuesday, 2K Sports said today. Still no word from Sony regarding a demo for MLB 12 The Show.

The demo will rematch the St Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers, the two teams from last year’s World Series, won by the Cardinals in seven games. If it’s using base rosters from the disc shipping on March 6, this will be your first opportunity to see what the Cardinals are like without Albert Pujols, who signed with the Los Angeles Angels during the off-season.

• 2K Sport also released a patch to address a rather serious startup issue in NBA 2K12 that had persisted for several weeks. The game froze at the startup screen while it tried to load the saved settings. A workaround in the meantime also didn’t fully address the problem.

The patch now should clear all of that up. So what happened? “Loading screen PS3 issue was bc of a 3rd party,” 2K Sports’ Ronnie Singh tweeted yesterday. “We always take accountability but you prob realised it happened 4 months after launch.”
