These Are The First PSP Games That Will Work On The Vita

Sony has released a list of the first 275 PSP games that will be available to be downloaded or transferred onto their new handheld Vita. Sony has put a note in the post indicating that the list is not complete, and that more games will be added in subsequent updates.

It's a far-reaching list, and a solid compliment to what is looking like a very large launch line-up of Vita-specific games. That said, it doesn't quite make up for the fact that if you've got your PSP games on a disc, you won't be able to transfer them to your Vita.

Ready for the complete list? It's below. Sony has also posted a list of minis that will work with the Vita, and there are a bunch of 'em. OK, I'm gonna go play some Tactics Ogre.

No mention of UMD transfers though. Ah well, gives me a reason to hang onto my PSP I guess. Plus, it's battery life is like 8hrs so it might not be a bad idea to save up a few games for it on long train rides lol.

No Peace Walker? A little part of me died inside :(

It's already going to be in the HD bundle coming to Vita, what more do you want?

I would like the version that I've already paid for to be compatible... with the Vita.... that I've already paid for!

Sorry but you sound like someone saying "Well I BOUGHT this PS3 game and I BOUGHT this 360, I want it to work on there"

Its a solid list, but no Metal Gear Solid, Grand Theft Auto, Gran Turismo, Kingdom Hearts or even Crisis Core? I mean shit, that's the reason why I play my PSP.

I don't believe KH or CC are even on the PSN Store so that's to be expected. I really don't know what's stopping S-E from releasing these digitally.

I've heard reports that MGS:PW works if you transfer it from your PS3.

This may be incorrect but the best explanation I've heard for KH's lack of a digital download is that Disney didn't want it there. No clue why.

As for Crisis Core, no idea at all.

which is not a good explanation because there are other Disney titles on both the PSN and the Nintendo equivalent (forgot the name)

Wheres KH Birth By Sleep? Grrr!!

As I clicked on the article, I hoped against hope there wouldn't be negativity abound from such a positive announcement. Lo and behold there was. Seriously. What the f**k will it take to make people happy?

For a start, for people to be far less critical and unforgiving. Pretty silly to be that way 24/7 and takes the fun out of Absolutely Everything.

"What Did I do to Deserve This My Lord?"

That's gotta be the bets game title I've ever heard!

The original game had a longer name that had to be changed because of a bunch of suits... suffice to say, it was even better...

Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I do to Deserve This My Lord?

Doesn't make sense...considering Peace Walker works in why is it not listed here

So you buy the HD pack when it comes out for Vita.

The list isn't what's compatible; it's what you can get from the store Using a Vita. You'll be able to transfer Peace Walker across using Media Go or your PS3.

It has Persona 3 and Disgaea, I'm sold.

how many of those dl titles are available on the au store, does anyone know?

OK, something needs to be clarified here. I've heard testimony from people who have Japanese Vitas using US accounts - this is not actually a list of PSP games that will work on the Vita, it's a list of PSP games you can get from the PS Store while using a Vita. If you have a digital PSP game that is not on this list, don't worry - that likely just means you'll have to download it using your PS3 or PC and transfer it to your Vita rather than downloading it directly. Here's a small list of some games confirmed to work on the Vita, despite the fact that some are not on Sony's current list:

    Half-Minute Hero
    Dissidia 012
    Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
    Archer Maclean's Mercury
    Ape Escape on the Loose
    Capcom Puzzle World
    Darkstalker Chronicles
God of War: Ghost of Sparta
    Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee
    Killzone Liberation
    Locoroco 2
    Megaman Maverick Hunter
    Mercury Meltdown
    Patapon 2
    Pursuit Force
    Ratchet and Clank Size Matters
    Sonic Rivals
    Sonic Rivals 2
    Syphon Filter: Logans Shadow
    Ultimate Ghosts'n'Goblins

But....I....just bought the 3 GTA games, and Sid Meiers's Pirates from the psn store sale.....don't tell me i have to wait to play it D:

Heh the only 2 PSP games I own that are on this list are the god of war ones. The god of war ones I just got the HD remakes of on the PS3

Hopefully the list will expand soon enough but then I thought that about the xbox backwards compatibility too...

Dissidia 012 Duodecim, Lord of Arcana, Persona 3 Portable.

Only PSP games I've been playing of late. Nice knowing they'd all work (though I'm not all that surprised)
