These Sexy Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC Outfits Are Completely Justifiable

Arriving next week alongside the "Sazh: Heads or Tails?" story pack, these two new outfits for Final Fantasy XIII-2 main characters Serah and Noel might seem like a pair of extravagant attempts to acquire $US2.99 from players, but they make perfect sense in the grand scheme of things.

Take Noel's Spacetime Guardian outfit, the main reason I had sexy in the headline. Without spoiling too much, it stands to reason that an outfit similar to the one the game's main antagonist wears would be lying around somewhere or sometime. There might not have been anyone around to make it, but maybe the other folks in Noel's time period planned ahead.

And then there's Serah's bits of pink cloth. It's easy to accuse Square Enix of playing to adolescent male fantasies, but think about where Serah lives. She's got a lovely little beach bungalow. It stands to reason she'd go swimming now and then, and it's not too far-fetched to imagine the monster attack from the beginning of the game occurring during a bit of swimming. You don't run and change when monsters attack!

You do run and change after the attack is over and you're about to embark on an epic adventure through time and space, but Serah's not that bright. I mean hell, she think's Snow is the new hotness, and Snow's a giant dick.

Justified or not, these lovely outfits will be available February 28 for $US2.99 or 240 Microsoft points. I'd only pay for them if I was allowed to swap them between characters. Noel would look so cute in pink.

Such a constructive and objective article.

Objective? Well, I guess we could get into a semantic analysis of precisely which objectively-observed attributes constitutes qualify their subjects for the labels which have been intuitively accepted in the vernacular...

...but I think that would cloud the message that we should all be taking away, which is that Snow is a giant dick.

Credit where it's due. It's news about nothing that's mildly amusing. He could have just said. "FFXIII-2 Character Skins for 3 bucks"

I'd rather read an article than a headline.

    They really aren't..

" two new outfits for Final Fantasy XIII-2 main characters Serah and Noel might seem like a pair of extravagant attempts to acquire $US2.99 from players, but they make perfect sense in the grand scheme of things"

You used to be able to download nude skins for Quake 2, many years ago, for free. No amount of flippant justification can make perfect sense of these abominations. And to think, they will sell a metric shitton of them, too. What a world.

you do know the only reason that people didn't charge money for the skins is because they were not allowed to right?

If someone could have had an exclusive deal for quake skins, and was able to sell them, those nude skins would have been sold at a premium.

Quake 2 was on PC, where you could make your own if you wanted. Most PC games you can still do this (For example, the custom female skins people have made for the TF2 characters, not to mention weapon and hat reskins.)

You know, I wouldn't mind these outfits if they were bundled with the Sazh DLC mission pack. But they're not and it's totally lame.

Even if someone catches you, you could at least defend yourself by saying it was part of a DLC mission and character addition.

    'catches you'?

Its content. If you dont think its worth it for the price, dont get it. This is not a concept restricted to DLC. If you dont think a full game is worth the price, dont get it. Whats the difference? The scale/size? No, since you are still making a judgement call about value that is personal to you.
