Arriving next week alongside the /”Sazh: Heads or Tails?” story pack, these two new outfits for Final Fantasy XIII-2 main characters Serah and Noel might seem like a pair of extravagant attempts to acquire $US2.99 from players, but they make perfect sense in the grand scheme of things.
Take Noel’s Spacetime Guardian outfit, the main reason I had sexy in the headline. Without spoiling too much, it stands to reason that an outfit similar to the one the game’s main antagonist wears would be lying around somewhere or sometime. There might not have been anyone around to make it, but maybe the other folks in Noel’s time period planned ahead.
And then there’s Serah’s bits of pink cloth. It’s easy to accuse Square Enix of playing to adolescent male fantasies, but think about where Serah lives. She’s got a lovely little beach bungalow. It stands to reason she’d go swimming now and then, and it’s not too far-fetched to imagine the monster attack from the beginning of the game occurring during a bit of swimming. You don’t run and change when monsters attack!
You do run and change after the attack is over and you’re about to embark on an epic adventure through time and space, but Serah’s not that bright. I mean hell, she think’s Snow is the new hotness, and Snow’s a giant dick.
Justified or not, these lovely outfits will be available February 28 for $US2.99 or 240 Microsoft points. I’d only pay for them if I was allowed to swap them between characters. Noel would look so cute in pink.
