Very Tall Tree Wins Free Copy Of Mass Effect 3

EA wanted the hype for Mass Effect 3 to go where no game had gone before. So they flew 10 copies of the upcoming game into the stratosphere by attaching them to weather balloons. The idea was to have frenzied fans track down the games and claim them when they descended back to terra firma. In one instance, things aren't going as planned.

To the dismay of about 10 people ready to jump into the fight against the Reapers, one of the high-altitude copies of Mass Effect 3 came to rest in the upper branches of a very tall tree in the San Francisco area.

According to the Mass Effect Facebook page, efforts are being made to dislodge the game from branches that are about 45m in the air. Baseballs have been flung and a slingshot are reported standing at the ready. Apparently, no one's Push biotics are strong enough to shove the threequel out from such heights. Here's hoping the other nine copies — and the people chasing them — have better luck.

That sounds like it's just going to cause major trouble when it lands somewhere like a kindergarten and suddenly BioWare are up for providing minors with innappropriate content.....aweseom idea though

And that tree would still pwn me in multiplayer.

I hope they are not expecting Garrus to get it down from that tree in that pic, he is still in the middle of some calibrations.

Now if that tree was in Sydney, I would be the dude with the baseball bat

I suddenly envision a group of shambling Mass Effect fans milling around the base of the tree groaning and drooling like a pack of zombies.

It's kinda disturbing how easy that is to picture.

        I know what you mean.

4 words: chop down the tree.

there probably is a law against chopping down a tree taller than certain height there

Shoots Game with Slingshot to dislodge.
    Game falls to Ground!
    Disc is cracked.

Not really much of a lose since it's Mass EAffect.

        Loss*

All those people buying the games you hate - they must be doing such real and actual harm to you. You poor baby.

          Sense.

          Please make some.

What he means is "haters gonna hate"

Tomorrow's headline: "Man becomes quadraplegic after attempt to retrieve free game in marketing debacle. Will sue for millions"

Presumably they planned it so none of them would land in the ocean...

So they planned for this one to get stuck up a tree?

EA don't control the wind, dude (yet).

It sucks that none of these are in Australia
