Fallout: New Vegas Isn't As Dangerous On Paper

In over fifteen years working as an artist in the video game industry, Joseph Sanabria has been in the employ of companies like Obsidian, THQ and Rockstar.

For those developers, he's produced art for games such as Terminator 3 and, awesomely, the Neverhood series. Most recently, he served as art director for Fallout: New Vegas, which meant he was the man responsible for defining the artistic direction of not just the sequel, but its downloadable content as well.

In the gallery above you'll find a selection of his work over the years, both personal and professional, but you can see plenty more at Joseph's personal site.

Fine Art is a celebration of the work of video game artists. If you're in the business and have some concept, environment or character art you'd like to share, drop us a line!

I tried out New Vegas, just couldn't get into it for some reason.
Maybe I should give it another crack?

I liked it a hell of a lot more than Fallout 3, but for some stupid reason, I traded my 360 copy, and haven't got around to starting it again on PC.

I had the same experience, I was especially frustrated when I couldn't work out a preferred stat build, no matter I couldn't make a perfect build it seemed like you always had to give up something major.

I stuck to it though, Fallout is an exceptional game, great story that also isn't to serious, it's like skyrim but alot more humour you shouldn't definitely give it another go.

The inability to make a perfect build is one of the things I loved about New Vegas. As an old pen and paper role-player, I believe interesting characters are defined more by their weaknesses than their strengths. In Fallout 1 & 2, I would intentionally build weak, clumsy, ugly, and unintelligent characters simply for the sake of a more challenging role playing experience.

Why on earth was the island cut from the game :( That would have been amazing god damn it.

New Vegas was awesome, those ghost people in Dead Money were creepy as hell.

agreed. they always creeped me out especially coming back to life if you didn't dismember them O_o

must have spent upwards of 300 hours across many play throughs in New Vegas, best of the DLC was old world blues. some awesome fallout humor in there.
Best line "this crater looks like its been tag-teamed by giant fuckbots"
