Pac-Man Returns To Television In 2013

One of the most iconic character in video game history gets another shot at small screen glory in 2013, when the Avi Arad-produced 3D animated Pac-Man: The Adventure Begins makes its Disney XD debut. So who’s this cute little round girl with the pink streaks?

What took you so long, Avi Arad? We’ve been waiting the executive producer of the Spider-Man and Iron Man films to get this project going for two years now. Originally slated for 2012, Pac-Man: The Adventure Begins follows the adventures of a high school-aged Pac-Man and pals as they, I dunno, go on wacky adventures?

Having been a big fan of the original ’80s Pac-Man cartoon, I’m excited to see what new adventures are in store for the little yellow icon. According to the official news release, so’s Avi Arad.

“I am very excited about producing Pac-Man – The Adventure Begins, the 3D animated series, with Rick Ungar. Pac-Man is one of the world’s greatest icons. He is funny and adventurous and will bring his tone and abilities to this beautifully executed animated series. For more than 30 years, Pac-Man has been a household name. Having this property on Disney XD is its rightful place to be.”

What I really want to know is when can I cover my desk with little plastic figures of Pac-Man’s little pink friend? She’s freaking adorable, in a marketing windfall sort of way.
