The Greatest Manga Screw-Up Of 2012?

If not the greatest, this has to be one of the greatest you'll see this year. The most recent issue of Comic Yurihime offered up a doozy of a printing error.

On page 173, one of the characters of Yuru Yuri exclaimed, "These clothes are so cute", while reading the magazine. The magazine was blank. It contents? Blank.

This isn't some sort of commentary on her sanity. Rather, this is the result of a printing blunder. The manga apologised for the oversight, blaming poor copyediting for the mistake. It also posted the correct images on its website.

Looking at a fashion magazine and saying something is cute is just dull. Looking at a blank mag and saying that? This mistake makes the manga far more interesting.

    How about dem vidya gaemz?

      Get outta here, Hippy!

I hope Bashcraft posts more random manga panels. \o/

This isn't /a/. Go back to Kotaku US Asscraft defence force.

DC comics had a similar issue 30-odd years ago with Etrigan/Jason Blood.
They ended up explaining it away as being a demonic book that only a demon such as Etrigan could read (to everyone else, it would appear blank).
The artist himself admitted fault, explaining that it was his misunderstanding of the printing process that caused it to happen.

    Great video game article.

Yeah nah. It doesn't make it the least bit interesting.

    Correction, this is

    I recognize Akari anywhere!

sorry all i see is chinatsu. is akari invisible again?

There are plenty of worse comic errors. The Phantom is always a fun one, starting with a printing error making him purple and moving on to him repeatedly punching bad guys with his left hand (which should technically be leaving the good mark every time).

A blank magazine in a comic wouldn't even register as a mistake to me. I would just assume that the artist couldn't be bothered drawing tiny details because it wasn't really important. You got the point about the contents from the dialogue.

Is there a way to hide any of the Ashcraft articles? Not that they are bad or anything, it's just that I'm totally not interested in any of them so might as well try to streamline my browsing.

I'd rather a filter to block all the people who whine incessantly about every last post on this site. I guess for the people trying to hard to kill it, the fact that people like me dropping it because of the neverending negativity is a win.

I enjoyed the article, for the record. And it isn't on every other site I read, either about gaming, Japanese culture, or manga. Interesting, original content, a shock! I can see why people are upset. :P

        Yeah, Damn you ZXR!

Settle for mediocrity and be quiet!
