This Baldur’s Gate Teaser Sure Takes Its Time To Tell Us Not Much

Following up on last night’s Baldur’s Gate website tease, today a YouTube user named Beamdogger has uploaded a teaser trailer for… something, featuring voice clips from both Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II and the world’s longest logo reveal.

Beamdogger refers to the digital distribution platform / independent studio Beamdog, run by former BioWare developer and BaldursGate.com owner Trent Oster. Oster has be coyly tweeting about the website for several days now, playfully teasing those trying to solve the mystery behind the renewed activity.

What does the teaser mean? It seems to indicate that whatever the project is it encompasses more than the first game. Beyond that, it indicates that whoever they’ve got making teaser trailers went a little slow on the logo forming.

I will say on thing, if this winds up just being an announcement of Baldur’s Gate showing up for sale on Beamdog, I’m setting the building on fire.

  • “if this winds up just being an announcement of Baldur’s Gate showing up for sale on Beamdog, I’m setting the building on fire.”

    Seconded.

      • Sorry, not trilogy, i mean a Baldur’s Gate 1 + exp and Baldur’s gate 2 + exp… I got both already and this is amping me up for NOTHING…

        ALTHOUGH… they never finished Baldur’s Gate 3….

THEY BETTER ANNOUNCE THEY ARE FINISHED/INTENDING TO FINISH IT !!! 😀

        • From what I understand, Baldurs Gate 3 was not going to be a continuation of the storyline anyway. Considering it was quite solidly wrapped up after ToB, I can’t see what they could continue anyway without retconning.

  • Yeah I thought Throne of Baal was basically BG3 anyway since the story wrapped up and ended.

And why would the announcement be them selling it on their website? you can buy it on GOG.com already.

  • People have been pointing out that this youtube account doesn’t seem to have any affiliation with Beamdog, and the website is not only registered, but also hosted on godaddy.

    Smells hoaxy…
