One could liken a video game boss fight to a pair of actors on a stage engaged in a heated argument, trading overblown barbs instead of blows. In Devil May Cry 4, Dante and Angus take that comparison and run with it.
The Devil May Cry series is known for its over-the-top action and tongue-barely-in-cheek humour, the former consistent, the latter hit-or-miss. This ultimate drama-student showdown had me rolling on the floor from the moment the first spotlight dropped til the last bit of confetti settled on the floor.
I desperately hope that Ninja Theory manages to capture the same spirit in the upcoming DMC. Without this bizarre sense of humour, it might as well be just another Devil May Cry clone.
