Russian Police Mistakes Space Invader For Bomb

A Moscow police force called in the bomb squad last night to investigate a “suspicious object” that turned out to be an alien from the arcade game Space Invaders.

RT.com reports that Russian street artist P183, also known as “Russian Banksy”, set up a robot version of one of the aliens from Space Invader on a Moscow street. It was set up to move back and forth, shooting fake red lasers at passing cars as it went along.

When police found the object, they cordoned off the area and called in a bomb disposal team.

“I’m shocked at the police reaction,” P183 told RT. “Who could have possibly mistaken a two-meter-wide Space Invader for a bomb? What astonished me the most is that when media reported this, they had a picture of actual grenade next to the text. You’ve seen the reaction of the people in the video recorded — it made them laugh! No one was suspicious about this!”

Well maybe they didn’t think it was a bomb. Maybe they thought it was an actual Space Invader. Those guys are terrifying.
