Sonic's Co-Creator Joins Nintendo

Well this is a line-crossing worth taking note of. Gamasutra reports that Hirokazu Yasuhara, co-creator of Sonic the Hedgehog, has taken a job at Nintendo.

Because it's never the wrong time for a Ghostbusters quote: Dogs and cats! Living together! Mass hysteria!

Yasuhara has joined Nintendo's Software Technology devision, an American-based second-party developer that has worked on a ton of Nintendo franchises, focusing largely on DS and DSiware games. Among others, NST was the studio behind Metroid Prime Hunters and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem.

Next we'll be hearing that Ronald McDonald is moving in with the Burger King King and they're going into business together.

It would be sweet if we could see a Mario & Sonic crossover platform game. No more Olympics!!

Sonic as DLC character for New Super Mario Bros Mii on Wii U?

Uhhh, guys? He may have co-created the character, but Sega (and Sonic Team) still hold the RIGHTS to it. So unless Nintendo actively merges with Sega, I doubt that we'll be seeing any unofficial crossovers anytime soon.

i never understood the hysteria around sonic... the games are so 1 dimensional in design that you could never pull of a new "successful" sonic genre like mario has achieved. lets face it... a fast paced rodent can only work in a few games, a plumpy old plumber can be used diversly

sonic really wasnt that good... jazz jackrabbit was far better ;)

      Here's hoping you're just a troll.
