Full Scale Macross Fighter Is More Amazing Than You Can Imagine

How do you celebrate a 30th birthday? With some cake? Presents? If you are Macross, you do it with a 1/1 scale VF-25 Valkyrie.

Sci-fi anime Macross debuted in 1982 as The Super Dimension Fotress Macross, which was reworked as part of the hodgepodge known as Robotech for the West.

This variable fighter is on display in Tokyo through May 6, and these photos come courtesy of sister site Kotaku Japan. Click here for more details about the event.

The VF-25 is one sexy piece of machine/jet/mech.

      Cue the Robotech Theme!

Queue the grinding teeth of a generation of Battletech/Mechwarrior fans.

I'm a mech fan and a macross fan.
Good thing I have dental on my health insurance.
          /Grinds teeth.

I seriously want to sit in that cockpit and then let loose a swarm rockets.

    Does it really work?

I concur that the VF-25 is a sexy piece of a Valkyrie.

    And forget the Robotech theme!

The VF-25 is from Macross Frontier and there is 1000 times better music in the last 30 years of Macross than what Robotech pulled off.

And Macross 7 for awesome J-Rock!

Although Macross 7 was pretty darn terrible but it was kinda amusing.
