Hey, It’s A New Trailer For The Last Of Us

Having been quiet for a little while, Naughty Dog’s upcoming The Last of Us returns to the public spotlight in this new clip.

Being a new game from the guys behind the Uncharted trilogy, it’s one to keep an eye on.

Don’t expect gameplay. Do expect trees. And vehicular carnage.

The Last of Us: New Trailer, New Ellie [IGN]

    • Just watched IGN’s Rewind Theatre for this trailer and they stated that this was all rendered by the engine. Pretty impressive indeed.

      • Yes rendered using the game engine but not necessarily in realtime, there is a differience. The cutsecenes in the uncharted game used the same engine in the game but were recorded on the disc in compressesd avi form.

  • And it looks amazing. I can’t wait to get stuck into this game – this year, Naughty Dog.
I’ll be your best friend …

  • I wasn’t that interested when they showed the first trailer… but now this has me interested.

I’m kind of surprised they didn’t show this off at E3 though.

  • This really is looking pretty promising, and unlike the Dead Island commercial, I actually think ND will deliver what they’re promising.

      • IGN’s Rewind Theatre said it’s some bridge in Pittsburgh. That’s where the opening of the game is set, and you can see a highway sign in the trailer which leads out of Pittsburgh. Apparently the bridge is well known but I don’t remember what they said it’s name was. Needless to say, it’s in Pittsburgh, and exists.

  • With every remotely interesting game getting pushed from late 2012 to early 2013, the last of us may be poised to be the only thing worth playing this christmas.

    • There is no release date for the last of us,Late 2012/Early 2013 according to wikipedia but thats just a guess.I would be very surprised if it comes out this year.It would be risky to release a new IP late this year with Blabk Ops 2, Assisins creed 3 and if rumors are true GTA 5.

  • It’s developed by Naughty Dog, but I thought this was a game developed by an entirely new team, separate to the Uncharted folks?

    • A lot of them have worked on the uncharted series just not the 3rd one I believe as they had already started this when they started uncharted 3

  • If anybody read the play through of this in Game Informer, this looks like what happens before hand.

  • There’s something about the main character that just looks like an older Drake with a beard.

It looks good, though. I’d have to see more and gauge the level of zombie-ness before I could really say I was interested, but Uncharted 1 levels of zombie-ness would be fine.
