Hidden Sexual Innuendo In The World Of Super Mario

Mario, the Italian plumber with a kidnap prone girlfriend is the poster child of Nintendo. But is there hidden sexual innuendo in the world of Super Mario? Some Japanese players seem to think so.

Consider the following:

Mario: The size of his nose as a metaphor for a large member. Luigi: His name in Japanese (ru-i-ji) is an anagram for the word, "to touch" or "twiddle" (i-ji-ru). Princess Peach: A peach can be seen as a woman's rear. Bowser: The king of the turtles. Turtles in Japan can be viewed as symbols for the male genitalia. Mushroom Kingdom: Mushrooms are shaped like... Need I say more?

Other pieces of evidence include how when Mario eats a mushroom, he gets bigger, or flowers as symbols for the female genitalia, and when Mario gets one of those, he turns red and spurts out hot little balls... Maybe there's something to this. Maybe it's just perverted minds reading too much into it. Maybe.

マリオの世界観エロすぎて困っちゃうんだけど [2ch]

    I just.....

    Is that source seriously 2ch?

      Oh woah. That is amazing.

I tried to enjoy this article... I really did

Also Angry Birds, subtle commentary on how when women (birds) have their children (eggs) stolen by men (pigs), they get angry. Anything can be anything if you put your mind to it.

    WTF is this shit?

The Article fails to mention marios ever more annoying quest for..... Cake....

"...flowers as symbols for the female genitalia, and when Mario gets one of those, he turns red and spurts out hot little balls..." wait-- wat.

I'm sorry, but the site has already been diminished by other fluff pieces. GTFO.

How wonderful to see Kotaku raising the bar again. Besides being offensive and immature, this article is stupid and has no relevance whatsoever to the gaming industry. Can you guys honestly not think of anything better to post?

      Offensive? wut?

Definitely stupid though. I had a little chuckle and now I'm going about my day, a little silliness won't hurt you.

i can pull sexual innuendo out of almost anything (get it.. pull?) anyways, even this to me is a reach. Only Quagmire could go that far surely.

Congratulations, it's only Monday and I already know I have a clear winner for worst article of the week.
